Dominic is a senior property litigator advising private individuals and companies in the UK and overseas. He acts for both landlords and tenants across a broad range of disputes involving residential, commercial and mixed-use premises.

He has extensive experience in property, land and landlord and tenant law. Having worked in both the private and public sectors, Dominic brings a well-rounded understanding of how property disputes arise and how they can be resolved effectively.

His work covers boundary disputes, easements and restrictive covenants, service charge disputes, disrepair claims, possession proceedings, dilapidations, forfeiture, trespass and nuisance. He also advises on matters involving assured shorthold tenancies, Rent Act tenancies, agricultural tenancies, lease renewals, breach of lease, adverse possession, rectification, professional negligence and insolvency issues affecting property.

Dominic regularly acts in leasehold enfranchisement matters, including statutory lease extensions and freehold acquisitions, as well as Right to Manage, Right of First Refusal and applications for the appointment of a manager. He also advises on issues arising under the Building Safety Act.

Litigation can place significant financial and personal pressure on clients. Dominic is always mindful of this. He provides clear advice on risk and exposure at an early stage and takes a commercial approach to strategy. Where appropriate, he explores alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration and expert determination, with a view to achieving a sensible outcome without unnecessary cost or delay.

Clients value his measured and pragmatic style. He is firm when required, but focused on achieving outcomes that protect his clients’ position and long-term interests.

Dominic is fluent in French and is a published author of fantasy fiction.
