A private FDR is just that – private. There will be no press, and you’ll be in a comfortable location of your choosing, to help you achieve an agreement at a pace and in an environment that suits you.

Doing this privately has many benefits. It's faster, the timing and location is flexible, and you can direct the Judge to the points you feel are most important. Private FDRs almost always result in a decision being made, which is great news if you want to avoid a drawn-out process.
