Associate Solicitor/CILEX – New Homes Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to join Laurus as a specialist in new build homes and investments, within our property department. You will be joining one of London’s fastest growing property law teams with a market-leading reputation for excellence.

We are a modern law firm moving swiftly from start-up to scale-up. With this growth comes a need for like-minded people to develop alongside us.

As an Associate in New Homes & Investments you will join a dynamic team servicing a growing client-list of developers, agents and buyers.

You will be acting for individuals on the purchase of off-plan and new build homes.

Acting for first-time buyers and guiding them through the intricacies of a new build purchase is integral. This will include advising on the nuances of Government backed schemes such as Help to Buy, shared-equity purchases and first-time buyers’ relief.

Relationship building is a key part of this role, ensuring all parties are updated and that all queries are dealt with promptly and reliably without legal jargon.

This includes supporting the Director of Property and Business Development Manager in business development activities, growing and nurturing both the firm and your reputation for excellence within the market.

We are a tech-enabled business and use cloud-based systems to manage our legal matters in a paperless environment.

You will be confident in advising first-time buyers to seasoned investors on the process of acquiring and disposing of new build properties and residential developments.

You will be driven and determined, having a minimum of 2 - 6 years’ post qualified experience working in property law, with good exposure to new homes and investments.

Your experience will mean you are well versed in all aspects of residential conveyancing for both freehold and leasehold transactions, as well as more complex lease issues and refinancing work.

Emotional intelligence and being a team player are essential, as you will work with a number of people and build relationships at all levels both inside and outside of the firm. Self-confidence and pragmatism are important skills to have, as well as being highly organised and capable of learning and working with IT systems.

We are looking for like-minded people to help us evolve our business and enhance our reputation - and yours. In return we offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

We hold regular wellbeing and social initiatives and encourage positive mental health both inside and outside of the business. We welcome applications from all diversity groups and backgrounds, and offer opportunities for growth, mentoring and development. We’re committed to enabling everyone to thrive and understanding and celebrating our differences is a key part of that.

We believe in modern working practices. We embrace technology to work flexibly and in an agile way, inside and outside of our offices in the City and Clapham.
